Availability & Loss Accounting — whose downtime was it?
Two numbers per site. Raw counts every lost kWh — what the building owner actually lost. Contractual removes losses the contract excuses (grid curtailment, owner shutdown, force majeure), and is what the ESCO is measured on. The guarantee target drops by the excluded energy, so a contractor is never charged for generation they were instructed not to produce.

A cracked cell, a bypassed substring or PID sits below every alarm threshold and bleeds a few percent for years. Findings are graded by temperature rise over neighbouring healthy modules (ΔT), not absolute temperature — a black roof in Riyadh runs at 70 °C when perfectly healthy.

On a zero-export site nothing curtails the plant — the inverter simply refuses to push past on-site demand, so this loss appears in no meter at all. It is invisible by construction, and it is the entire business case for storage.

Round-trip efficiency falls before capacity does, so it is the earliest warning of a failing pack. Cycles are equivalent full cycles (throughput ÷ usable capacity) — counting charge events instead inflates warranty consumption several-fold.
